Join us Thursday, September 24 at 11 AM CT / 12 Noon ET for Grouting Gone Right: Increasing Profits & Success While Decreasing Headaches and Problems presented by Rod Sigman Business Development Manager/Product Line Manager - UltraCare, MAPEI Corporation.
While not all tile or stone needs some type of pre-treated prior to installation, the everyday challenges faced by tile and stone contractors can pose constant challenges. Among them are the potential for grout staining and or hazing issues that cost time and money that were never considered in the bid and bottom line. Other related consequences are overwatering grout to make it easier to float, over washing to remove hazing leading to grout discoloration and low joints. Knowing what types of stones and tiles may need to be pre-sealed is the first step. Understanding when to use a pre-sealer versus a grout release is essential. Knowing what, how and when to implement these tools will ensure installation success and a better finished project.
Learning Objectives
1. Identify some of the most common problems associated with installing tile and stone as it relates to grouting.
2. Discuss whether all tile and stone installations need to be pre-treated prior to grouting due to porosity/absorption and texture/microtexture.
3. Learn the difference between a pre-sealer and grout release.
4. Understand when and how the use of a pre-sealer or grout release can lead to more profitable and successful installations.
