Assistant to the President / Business Administration

Virginia Beach, VA

Job Summary:
Responsible for managing assigned business operations projects.  Facilitate daily operations through scheduling, planning, and organizing work, clearly communicating goals, and ensuring that all staff are familiar (and in compliance with) the appropriate standards and procedures.

  • Assist President with daily work
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly business performance metrics
  • Responsible for preparation and analysis of business and product cost calculations
  • Manage assigned projects
  • Implement management decisions
  • Coordinate business insurance policies
  • Assist coordination of HR activities; On-boarding and termination, Benefits administration, Policy implementation
  • Participate in company and departmental meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Participate in company, departmental meeting, and performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
  • Mulit-tasking and time management abilities for working on multiple projects
  • Able to develop and analyze data
  • Proficient computer skills; MS Office and ERP software (SAP)
  • High level of discretion regarding confidential information
  • Effective verbal and written communciation skills
  • Able to develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, etc.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources pratices and laws
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and able to work autonomously
B.S. in Business Administration or MBA

Aptitudes, Interests, Temperament:
High level of professionalism and able to handle challenging tasks well. Effectively communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management and be able to apply critical thinking skills to problem solve complex, multi-variable scenarios. Able to suggest solutions and strategies.

Roles & Relationships:
Assist President to formulate objectives/strategy and drive business operations. Support employees with HR concerns and benefits information. Coordinate with Accounting, Production, Sales and Technical departments as needed.
