This course is designed to help design teams better understand the causes of many commercial flooring issues in order to better avoid them. To do this, we must understand the influence that site conditions, product selection, product usage and maintenance can have on flooring products in a commercial environment. First, we will discuss the causes of various site-related issues that can affect commercial flooring. Next, we will discuss how project-specific flooring selection is critical to maximizing performance. Understanding final usage is also a crucial part of ensuring flooring products perform correctly. Finally, we will discuss the potential problems that can arise when maintenance procedures are not performed correctly. We will then review the importance of proper maintenance, especially in a commercial environment, in order to ensure the long-term success of the flooring installation.
Presenter, Graham Capobianco, is a fifth-generation flooring veteran who has a diverse background and range of experience. Over the past 14 years, Graham has worked in sales and technical positions for manufacturers of cork, rubber, vinyl, polymers and adhesives. As a self-proclaimed “flooring nerd,” Graham has accrued a wealth of knowledge regarding concrete, moisture mitigation, substrate repair, flooring adhesives and flooring selection. With this knowledge, Graham provides impactful solutions and an overall better experience when working with contractors, designers, and end-users on commercial projects.
