The MAPEI team will also demonstrate proper troweling techniques to achieve mortar coverage under large tiles.

Product Presentation - Kovara Moisture Control System
Presented by Carlo Martino, Director of Sales for Key National Accounts and Curtis Colegrove, CIM, Field Tech, TRAXX Corporation
A properly installed moisture barrier keeps excessive moisture from damaging the floor covering but this is often an afterthought. Without one, the floor covering is susceptible to alkaline staining, curling, cracking and discoloration. KOVARA® / VAPORSHIELD™ takes half the time to install compared to epoxy-based solutions and requires no shot blasting. Liquid epoxies are a slow and messy process with hours of floor preparation and curing time. KOVARA® / VAPORSHIELD™ also eliminates the noise and fumes associated with those liquid methods.
Carlo Martino joined TRAXX Corporation through the acquisition of Halex Commercial Flooring Division from GCP Applied Technology in February 2023. Carlo has over 25 years of experience in the industry with a background in tile and stone masonry. He is currently the Director of Sales / National Key Accounts.
Curtis Colegrove spent 20 years on the installation side, primarily with soft goods and another nine years in sales, project management and performing take-offs. He has worked in technical support for seven years, first with GCP and now TRAXX Corporation. In this role as TRAXX Technical Representative, he educates the flooring professional in subfloor substrate inspection, resilient flooring inspection and ICRI Moisture Testing Technician Grade 1.
LVP / LVT Recipes for Success
Presented by Peter Kane, Technical Manager, Commercial Accounts, Novalis Innovative Flooring
In this session, Peter Kane, Technical Manager, Commercial Accounts, will discuss the standards and requirements for vinyl/resilient flooring with a focus on time saving efficiencies. Peter will also share how building a relationship with a manufacturers’ technical support representative is beneficial and how it creates proactive action that greatly minimize reactive situations.
Peter Kane has been a flooring professional for almost 30 year starting in 1984 as an installer’s helper; then, in 1990, he became a full-time installation contractor. In 2007, he moved to the manufacturer side as a technical specialist, several years of which he served as technical manager in transportation sales. Peter has been in his current position, the North American Commercial Flooring Technical Manager, since 2022.
