FCICA Announces the Go Carrera Forward Progress CIM Scholarship Recipient

FCICA, the Flooring Contractors Association, in cooperation with Go Carrera, FCICA Associate Member, is pleased to announce the Forward Progress Certified Installation Manager Program (CIM) Scholarship was awarded to Jess Wilson with Masters Petersons Flooring & Design, Winsor, Colorado.

Jess has over 23 years of installation experience, primarily in ceramic/porcelain installations, having mastered tile floor, wall and ceiling installations; he has also installed LVT and carpet. Recently he became a field supervisor, moving from installation to the supervision of multiple jobs. Jess expressed that the CIM Program will "hopefully (make him) a better field supervisor and possibly an installation manager - to set our installation crews up for successful and profitable jobs". Upon learning he was the scholarship recipient, he said he was excited to get started.

Go Carrera initiated the the Forward Progress Scholarship in 2022. Jess Wilson is the second flooring professional to receive the scholarship. In January 2023, Carissa Parr, L & R Floors, was named the first scholarship recipient. The scholarship covers the cost of the full Certified Installation Manager (CIM) Program including application, content and assessment fees, a value of $1,225.

FCICA thanks Go Carrera for their support of FCICA and the CIM Program through this generous scholarship.

The Certified Installation Manager (CIM) Program, the only certification program available for floor covering installation project managers, sets the industry standard for those involved in the management of commercial flooring projects. The Program, training modules led by experts who speak from years of floor covering experience, paired with assessments, enhances the qualified flooring professional’s core skill set, experience and knowledge base necessary to successfully manage commercial flooring projects. Individuals who reach this level of expertise are easily distinguished by their Certified Installation Manager (CIM) designation. Launched in 2015, this certification program has graduated over 350 installation managers.
